This category will house TIG welding torch post including TIG Torch parts and water cooled torches.

Tig Torch Sizes

Finding which TIG torch size works best for you may have to be the result of trial and experience. You’ll have to find what size feels the best to you while you’re actually welding on the job.

The smaller and light Tig torch size usually feels more nimble to most welders and tend to be less of a strain over time to your arm and hand muscles. The smaller sized Tig torches can weight less than 3 oz and can even come close to 2 oz.

The larger size TIG torches may feel more substantial in your hand and could give you a better sense of control while welding. You’ll have to deal with the higher weight though as some of the bigger sizes weight over 7 oz and can end up putting a decent strain on your hand over the length of a welding job.

Again, Sometimes the size of a TIG Torch is a personal preference that you’ll have to figure out for yourself. Our suggestion is to try out every possible piece of equipment that you can and find what works best for you.

TIG Torch Hand Control

Using a TIG torch hand control will allow you the ability to easily control your welding while having the ability to adjust your TIG welder.  The hand control wraps right around the TIG torch itself and allows you to control the welding process without having to use a foot torch control.

The hand control allows you to turn the TIG torch on and off all with just one hand.  The same hand you are holding your TIG torch.  This can be very beneficial where you have to work in a confined place where you cannot have access to foot control to turn your welding machine on and off while you are welding.

Like the foot control, the hand control allows you to adjust the amount of ampage that you are welding with.  The control mechanism is either rotatory or linear to increase or decrease the total ampage.

TIG Torch Parts

Working with a comfortable TIG torch is very important.  You need a TIG torch that fits comfortably in your hands.  The contours of the handle and your hands ability to grip the torch will help ensure that you produce precise and exception work.

The overall size of the TIG torch and the TIG torch parts that you use will affect and enable you to get access to tight spaces.  Working with a flexible head and parts will make it easier to get into small spaces to weld.

One of the most important TIG torch parts that you will require is a torch that gives you control of the gas so that you can quickly control the level of the shielding gas flow coming out of the TIG torch.  Being able to control the gas flow will help you do your job better.

Working with a non-slip grip will also allow you to control your torch better and is a welding part that is very important to have in your equipment box.
